Setting Description

In any given fourth grade class a typical week will consist of a blend between Project based learning and more traditional teaching practices. In no particular order, a day may have the following elements:

●      Morning meeting

●      Project work time (Reading, writing, reseach)

●      Independent reading, Flexible reading groups, Literature circles, read-alouds (typically tied to current projects)

●      Project Work time (problem solving with open ended questions typically tied to the current project. This is also where  math integration takes place)

●      Cross Grade Level collaboration

●      Physical Activities such as organized games

●      Daily Reflections
